Africana Familia Collection

The Africana Familia Collection, a family of furniture launched at Design Indaba 2012, embodies low-tech solutions and explores the possibilities of humble but tactile materials through the design of a range of lights and seats. The designs elegantly combine varying lengths of standard sized wood with M6 nuts and bolts, allowing the frames to adjust into various poses. All the items in the collection are made by hand and celebrate the imperfections associated with the artistry.

Adding to the playful character of the versatility of family, the names of the pieces reference various archetypal forms of addressing Afrikaans boys/men.
